Potable Water for Tigray, Ethiopia

With over 3 million annual water-related deaths in Ethiopia, the need for pure water and hygiene is critical, with 66% of the rural population has unimproved drinking water sources, and 81% of the rural population does not have water sanitation facilities.

H.A.P.P.Y. has plans to locate, install, and distribute potable water throughout the Tigray, Ethiopia region. In doing so, most water-borne ailments will be curtailed, which will decrease the amount of traffic going to the very few, overcrowded hospitals. Of those suffering, most are children. Once clean water is secure, these children can go to our schools.

Kindergarten School for the Orphans

Tigray, Ethiopia

When our founder, Michael Tilahun Belay, first returned to Tembien, he went from village to village to save orphans — some were found playing and living on destroyed military equipment, others were found living in trees by the river. Help us build so these children no longer study on the sand.

Tigray Regional Medical Clinic

Tigray, Ethiopia

Ethiopia has only 2 pediatric surgeons in a nation of 94,000,000 and 44% of the population is under 14 years old. Many have died walking into the city for medical help, including Belay's sister. Help us build a medical clinic for the Tigray region, complete with multiple ambulances.
